Short film “Dove on the Roof” will be screened at European Independent Film Festival
Altogether 22 films from 12 countries competed for the main awards of the festival this year. The jury includes 14 film industry professionals such as producer Vikas Shah, film director Simon Powell, film producer Gareth Jones, film producer Catalin Leescu, film director and screenwriter Alan Arrivée, film director and actor Stephen Mills, actor Socrates Alafouzos and documentary filmmaker Jeffrey Karoff.
ÉCU - The European Independent Film Festival is an annual international film festival dedicated to independent cinema. The festival is held in Paris, France since 2006 and is at the center of discovery and promotion of the best independent film making talent from Europe and beyond. During the festival which is usually held in late March or at the beginning of April along with the usual festivities there are also various workshops organized ranging from scriptwriting to acting.
Film “Dove on the Roof” which tells about difficult life of a boy who is trying to get his father back into the family was also shown in October in United States at the III Silent River Film Festival and at the Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) in India. It also received Award of Excellence in women filmmakers nomination at Accolade Competition in USA and Special Jury Mention at the 2nd Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival in India. “Dove on the Roof” also participated at the 2nd Flathead Lake International Cinemafest in USA and 1st Navi Mumbai International Film Festival in India. Short film also received Best Director Award at the Hollywood Shorts Reel—2014 Online Film Festival which was held in India.
